This comment is for Sipho's and their future customers. I will make two sections: stuff I liked and stuff I didn't. I tried to be somewhat objective and provide feedback that matters.
Stuff I liked. The place is beautiful. You won't be embarrassed to bring your friends and family. The food is real and tastes great. They offer free soft drink refills (maybe others too). They have a Sierra Nevada beer tap (but I didn’t check to see if they can serve beer yet). They serve fish, chicken, and vegetarian dishes: curry, jerked, and soupy.
Stuff I didn’t like. The food prep takes FOREVER. Seriously. I sat at least 30 minutes after I ordered before I even got a whiff of my food. And, they really leave the bones in the food. This is a deal breaker for me.
My husband and I love to go to Siphos. We love everything that we have tried there; from the brown stewed chicken to the curried goat to the jerk chicken pasta. And you have to try the ginger lemonaide... we are addicted to that stuff. The wait staff is friendly and inviting and Siphos daughter, S'auda (pardon my attmept to spell that right) makes everyone feel like family. Be prepared to sit and enjoy the Jamaican music, food this good is not fast. It is real comfort food that tastes like home cooking. If you get a chance to talk to Sipho, which is likely because he likes to come out and greet his guests, he will tell you that it takes time when you want to put love in the food...but let me tell you...it is worth the wait! Give it a try.
sipos's food is a now the need for people.
